Dreamy Artwork

There is a photographer (Gray Malin) and artist (Teil Duncan) that I keep coming across... on blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. I'm drawn to these summery images and just had to share. Pretty great, right? They're dreamy if you ask me.

First up, Gray Malin's striking photography...

Here are Teil Duncan's paintings...

Back on the lake...

Last week Wednesday night my parents new boat was delivered, so we decided on an impromptu sunset cocktail cruise and dinner at Timmer's on the lake. The weather was gorgeous (it finally hit 80 degrees), we had to christen the boat, and needed to get Mae out for her first boat ride! Here is my post on Nina's first boat ride!

Doesn't this look glorious? If only we could do this year round...

A few photos...

Happy Thursday! Just a couple photos from lately - I am SO excited spring is FINALLY here!

Nina loves being outside in the yard with Mr. Evans. They putz around, do projects and play and she couldn't be happier!

My tulips have finally popped up and the rest of the yard is coming along. It's so nice seeing some color and sunshine!

Mae is doing great!! She's such a sleeper and effortlessly dozes off at all times of the day (if only she'd stay more awake for her feedings... hehe)! We love her tons!

Mother's Day

Eight days after Mae was born we celebrated Mother's Day! She's been blessing us with 5 hour nightly sleep stretches and Mr. Evans took the night feeding, so I got basically uninterrupted sleep. Then, I awoke to gifts from my wonderful husband and daughters and we headed to brunch at the Country Club with my parents and in-laws (the best moms I know). It was delicious, but more than that I was just happy to spend time with my girls. Seriously, it's the best... these two make my heart melt over and over. I am also incredibly lucky to have a husband who desires to make my mothers's day special - although he seriously makes me feel special every day so I don't really need one day.

p.s. Check out my posts about Mother's Day from the past few years - here and here. I love these!

Mae Frances Evans

We are elated to announce the arrival of Mae Frances Evans. She was born May 3, 2014 at 3:20 am. She weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and was 22 inches long. Life as a family of four is amazing and we are so blessed to have two wonderful daughters!

My labor and delivery was-dare I say-easy for an almost 9 lb baby (I think it was the acupuncture I got a few hours prior to going into "real" labor), I'm feeling great and were adapting well. We've been lucky to have amazing food dropped by, presents for all, visits from family and friends and more. What can I say? Mae must bring a party. We had mimosas just hours after she was born and celebrated with mint juleps in the hospital room (it was Derby Day... and we couldn't help ourselves)! :) Must just be tradition because we did a similar happy hour with Nina. But on to the good stuff...

Here are a few photos of moments with Mae...

An Annual Crazy Tradition (Again)

It's that time of year... the ice on the lake has dropped which meant Mr. Evans was itching to jump in for his annual tradition. So, last Saturday (April 26) he took a quick plunge. Here is last years jump! Crazy guy!!

Cheers to the warmer weather!!!
