Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's Market and then hosted lunch for my good friend Sarah, her husband Zach and daughter Audrey (no photo :( though). Sarah and I (and our friend Megan!!) are performing together at a wedding next weekend so we needed some practice. Yay! Later that afternoon, we drove about 15 minutes away to the Shalom Wildlife Zoo. It's a certified zoo with over 100 acres and bison, bears, elk, reindeer, cougar and more! It was beautiful and so much fun. There is even a scavenger hunt to keep the kiddos interested (prizes included)! Luckily we had our BOB Stroller for Mae, but Nina walked the entire loop! Here are a few photos. :)
On Sunday, we packed a picnic and headed east about 45 minutes to Lake Michigan in Sheboygan. Then, we headed to Bookworm Gardens about 5 minutes away. It's a beautiful (free!) garden and exploration area for kids all based around storybook themes. As an English major and children's book lover, this was right up my (and Nina's) alley. Mae could toddle around too, so she was a happy camper!! I would totally recommend this - so adorable, well maintained and educational. After Storybook Gardens, I went to baby shower in nearby Kohler for a friend (with my mother-in-law) and Mr. Evans, the girls and my father-in-law went swimming at Sports Core. It was a great day and the girls were totally exhausted after so much fun! Here are a few photos.
