Recent Hooray Mail

I thought today it'd be fun to share a few pictures of some recent Hooray Mail that's been going out to our subscribers. Our snail mail is delivered twice per month for kids ages 2-6. In each brightly colored envelope there is a personalized card and a simple, fun activity!

Here is the Christmas card... the activity inside was a Letter to Santa writing template and a color in your own Christmas tree worksheet!

On to New Years!! This card's activity featured little "goal setting" discussion prompts for children, big stars to color in, and word tracing practice.

The middle of January's card was "Let it Snow" themed. Kids could color in the big snowflake on the front. Inside was a body part and winter clothing matching worksheet.

Next up is... Valentine's Day. Hooray! Here is a peek at the card. So cute, right? :)

This month's activity was "love notes" - so kids trace, cut out and give love notes to friends and family. They get to practice their scissors, tracing and more!

Use a little washi tape to leave "love notes" around the house and voila... love is in the air!!

I received the sweetest email the other day and I wanted to share it with you today because this, my friends, is what Hooray Mail is all about...

Elliot LOVES Hooray Mail! (And so do I!)

He loves when I read the card to him. It's also been interesting because now I'm learning things about him that I didn't know before. 

When we were circling the numbers on the inside of the Trick or Treat card, I knew he could count, but realized that he can recognize the numbers visually...I didn't know that!

When we were done, he took the card into his bedroom, shut the door and said he was going to work on "homework"...haha! 

So so happy to hear this! :)

This is why I created Hooray Mail.

For mama and kiddos to connect on purpose, instead of by accident.

For kiddos to have more moments of joy and HOORAY!

Recent Hooray Mail

I wanted to share a few photos of the most recent Hooray Mail that went out. SO cute, right? I love that this time we adapted the cover design to be a bit more girly with pink too!

In Wisconsin, we're knee deep in Packers season so I thought a fall football themed card would be fun.

The inside activity focused on scissors practice, which kids young and small can actually work on! :)

Hooray Mail Update

It's usually seems to me that as soon as Halloween is over the "holidays" have begun and my mind shifts to 2016.

This fall, I'm super excited to plan out our designs and activities for Hooray Mail 2016!! 

I have some exciting ideas in store I cannot wait for the subscribers and kiddos to see!

Last week on a particular day, I got a Blue Apron shipment (we tried it for the first time), Birchbox, a few fun holiday catalogs to look through, a pretty invite to a family baptism and Nina got her latest Hooray Mail envelope!

I shared on Instagram how we did the super simple activity in this month's Hooray Mail card together. She loves purple painted fingernails, by the way! :)

I created Hooray Mail to deliver smiles and to connect mamas with their kiddos - on purpose - not by accident. So when I get to do this exact thing with my daughter and see her eyes light up ... the WHY behind this business is crystal clear.

Second Ever Shipment of Hooray Mail!!

I'm SO excited. Today, the SECOND ever batch of Hooray Mail went in the mail!!! 

Kiddos in Wisconsin, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Idaho and more are going to be SO excited to receive mail in a few days!!

I still can NOT believe that in just over 1 month since launch we're already helping so many moms, aunts and grandmas connect with their kiddos. It's such an honor to bring joy and deliver a little bit of love... one mailbox at a time.

My Why

You know what Hooray Mail is and how it works, but do you know WHY I do it?

The simple answer is that these two smiley girls are my reason. They light up my world.

Honestly, there is nothing better than seeing your kiddos eyes light up with joy and love.

And that's why I created Hooray Mail. To connect mamas with their kiddos... on purpose instead of by accident.

It's about connection really. That's what we all crave and all need.

But, we all seek easy solutions if I'm being honest. No one realistically has time (or money! or energy!) to create elaborate activities for your kiddos.

We might want to (ahem... Pinterest perfection syndrome), but we don't.

We get busy. We work full-time. We have a full to-do list already.

So instead, we feel guilty. We wonder if we are doing enough.

Of course, we can connect with our kiddos during the everyday moments in life - which is so so important. But, is that it?

We want to bring our kids more joy and more HOORAY, but without having to think about it?

It might sound selfish, but I already think about them 100% of my day - What should I make them for lunch? Did they go potty? Is it bath night? Do I have babysitter for next Saturday? Are they happy? Are they safe?

Mama minds are like revolving doors of mom guilt, pride, love, pressure... and more mom guilt. :) Right?

SO back to my why...

Kiddos. Connection. Joy & Love. 

Hooray Mail just shows up every few weeks without thinking about it and it provides you with a moment to connect over the simple activity and positive message.

What could be better?

Easy peasy, no stress and fun!

I'm constantly thinking about my daughters and the faces of kiddos across the country opening #hooraymail and seriously shouting HOORAY!! Yay! Yipeee!!

My girls Nina and Mae have my heart and are the reasons behind this business.

But please know mama, auntie, grandma... your special little ones are the reason behind Hooray Mail as well.

It's about them, not us. 

They deserve HOORAY!!

Big Announcement!!

Drumroll please....!!!

I am beyond ecstatic to announce I have a launch date.

Nina, my four year old, thinks it's "lunching" and she's excited to have a sandwich... but no... :)

This means your kiddos only have to wait a few more weeks until they shout HOORAY at the sight of snail mail just for them!

September 1st is when the shop will officially open! Hooray!!

I heart mail!

As a little girl, I remember that when I got mail - just for me - I felt so special, loved and remembered. There was something about a little piece of paper that represented so much more.

That's part of the reason I created Hooray Mail. I want my girls to have the same feelings on a consistent basis. 

So, when I went out to test my idea, to see if other mama's like me found value in what the snail mail provided for their kiddos, I started with a test group. 

A few months back in June, I mailed out a big batch of cards to moms just like me! It was a blast! 

Here are a few photos of Nina and I when we put the cards in the mail. It was Sunday, June 28th at our local post office. Pretty, right? 

This was the beginning.

All cards were delivered with love and joy by my sweet little Nina and I (Mae was snoozing in the car a few feet away). :)

There is nothing better than receiving mail - especially mail that makes you want to shout HOORAY!!

Hooray Mail!

I received many questions about this post and what I have in the works.

Well, here goes. I'm starting a new business called...

Hooray Mail!!!

Hooray Mail is a twice-monthly subscription snail mail service that helps busy mamas create moments of joy for and with the little ones that mean the most to them.

In each brightly colored envelope you’ll find a fun card with a personalized message and a kid tested activity.

It's launching soon - I'm just putting on the finishing touches.

I'm also excited to share with you a little bit "behind the scenes"! In order to create the Hooray Mail brand, I worked with Kelly and Andra over at With Grace & Gold. 

We started with this Branding Board they created so we could make sure we were on the same page for the look & feel. I was going for simple and clean, but evoking feelings of fun and joy! I love how it turned out!

Next, they presented about 10 different logo options and I picked this one! I love the watermelon and navy color combo, fonts and envelope submark with confetti (or glitter!) coming out. Makes it feel like joy is really delivered in an envelope! :)

They've been fantastic to work with and I really feel like the aesthetic of Hooray Mail matches my vision exactly. I'll have more "behind the scenes" posts leading up to launch day (still TBD) soon. Meantime, be sure to head on over and check out the site and subscribe to get my emails. Yay!!
