Paint Colors

It's almost been one year since we moved into our new home. Can you believe it? We've loved every minute of living in our home and have spent good amount of time making it our own. I love to decorate and enjoy doing projects so I thought I'd update you with what we've been up to!

Over the next few weeks, I plan to share photos, project ideas and sources for many of the rooms in our home. To start, today I'm sharing our paint colors! If you're like me, you LOVE paint colors. I seriously could spend hours looking at colors and fan decks. I think paint is the perfect foundation to every room.

Here's our home's palate. These are our interior main floor paint colors. We painted nearly every surface upstairs over the course of the past year (we have a ranch home with a finished basement, but will probably not paint downstairs for quite a while). As mentioned above, I'll share details into each room over the coming weeks, but let's start with paint!

Sherwin Williams Analytical Gray - Mudroom
Sherwin Williams Antique White - Master Bathroom
Benjamin Moore Bleeker Beige - Living Room, Kitchen, Hallways, Entry, Staircase
Sherwin Williams Divine White - Girl's Bathroom
Benjamin Moore Kingsport Gray - Powder Room
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter - Nina's Room
Behr White Truffle - Laundry Room
Ralph Lauren Embassy Purple - Master Bedroom
Martha Stewart Seed Pearl - Nursery

A few painting tips...

I always look for paint color ideas on Pinterest or Houzz because I love to see how other people have used the color, how they decorate around it, and how it looks against certain colors of woodwork (white painted trim vs natural).

I also almost always buy a sample container or two first... it's costs way less time and money to try it out than to buy an entire gallon. Also, hire a painter if it makes sense. We did for our main living/kitchen area because of the ceiling height and scale of the room - worth every penny!

Last, I am always a huge advocate for a mostly neutral color scheme (thanks to my Mom). You can always add pops of color with your artwork, accent pillows, decorations, etc. It's timeless and is just the way to go in my opinion.

P.S. I use this free downloadable/printable organizer from I Heart Organizing to keep track of our colors.
