Happy St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorites! Slainte!! We celebrated last night with a Guinness, Reuben's and some Gaelic Storm blasting in our speakers! Not our usual fanfare, but good enough for life with two young kiddos! ;)

St. Patrick's Day
Today is St. Patrick's Day! Slainte!
Yesterday, I made a sort of Irish inspired meal. This Irish Cooking Blog I stumbled upon (Farmette) is where I would've preferred to plan my meal, however my pregnancy has diminished my ambition to be in the kitchen for hours on end. Nonetheless, the meal was good and I am so ready for a Jameson!

Yesterday, I made a sort of Irish inspired meal. This Irish Cooking Blog I stumbled upon (Farmette) is where I would've preferred to plan my meal, however my pregnancy has diminished my ambition to be in the kitchen for hours on end. Nonetheless, the meal was good and I am so ready for a Jameson!

St. Patrick's Day
Did you really think I'd let the year pass and not comment on our St. Patty's Day!?
It's no secret, we love celebrating St. Patrick's Day. This year, we spent the morning at my in-laws and participated in the annual parade and celebratory toast (ahem, shots!) at 52 Stafford Irish Pub. Afterwards, we enjoyed my mother-in-law's delicious homemade meal - Irish Stew, soda bread, cabbage, potatoes, Guinness, and whiskey!
Later that afternoon, Mr. Evans and I headed out downtown Milwaukee with friends. We went to Mo's Irish Pub for drinks, dinner and Trinity Irish Dancers watching! Later, we had tickets to see Gaelic Storm. We've seen them a few times now (and listened to their cd's all throughout our road trip around Ireland). Their concert is high-energy and a perfect way to spend the night!

The Evans family history, my husband's gallivanting in Ireland for a semester, and friends and stories we continue to share today all add to the richness and fun of the holiday. I'll miss our usual celebration of visiting Mo's Irish Pub, the Harp, County Clare, seeing the Trinity Irish Dancers, and drinking some green beer (or Jameson or the Knot, if you are anyone but me). Next year we'll venture out with our baby. Maybe... :)
This year, we're doing this differently, but equally as exciting. We started a bit early this weekend making this non-traditional Irish(ish) meal. Our festivities continue on Thursday with a Gaelic Storm concert downtown! Can't wait!

March has been a full month - full of trips and full of fun memories. The first weekend in March, I was in Chicago for a bachelorette party. The second week, I was in San Diego on business. The third weekend we headed out of town to MN
for my SIL's first wedding shower. The fourth weekend, we headed to Mr. Evans's hometown for my SIL's second shower. And this weekend - right now - (the fifth in March), I am in De Pere for my second annual SNC girls weekend. More to come on that later! :)
Below are some super fun pictures from both of my SIL Beth's (or Bessie as we all call her) showers. She'll be a beautiful bride and we cannot wait for her big day!

| (Don't mind Nina's spit up... we can't change bibs fast enough) For lunch, we made PW chicken salad on fresh croissants, balsamic tomato pasta salad, fruit salad, tomato/basil/mozz skewers, had a cheese/dried fruit tray and a spinach salad with GOP vinaigrette. For dessert, we had gourmet cupcakes and a sundae bar. Also, the picture in the top right is a four-generation photo - Nina, Mr. Evans, Mary Kay and Grandma Rhea. |
