The Lively Show!!!

I'm SO honored and excited to be featured on The Lively Show today! Jess Lively, the host, is someone I've gotten to know over the past year or so, and when she asked if I'd come on the show I'll admit ... I got a bit misty eyed!

Her guests are people I admire and learn from, so she'd seriously want ME to join their company? Just look at this list of just a few of her past guests!

If you haven't binged listened to every single episode, you're missing out. Even my husband is a convert!! :)

The show has had over 1 million downloads and is in the top 5% of all podcasts. To say I'm nervous for you to listen is an understatement.

But it's also a major privilege to share what I'm talking about. We talk about her course Life with Intention Online. I share things about me, Hooray Mail and my life as well (of course)! I'm an alumni of the course and I share how it was a game changer for me. It ultimately has helped me to be more at peace with my life and has led to the creation of my capital V Values and Values Based Intentions. I shared a bit about the course here.

I really hope you learn something from listening to our chat and consider joining the course yourself. If you do, let me know that you've signed up because I get a little special something! It's a life changer I promise... so so soooo good!

So you can just click on the image above or the link below (then scroll down to the coral box on that page and click the play arrow) to listen. Or find it wherever you like to get your podcasts!

Life with Intention Online Course

I mentioned here that I was enrolled in Jess Lively's Life with Intention six week online course. Basically, here's a summary from Jess -- the class "ditches traditional paths to "happiness" and "success" and rebuilds our approach to POSSESSIONS, PERSONAL HABITS, RELATIONSHIPS, and CAREER from the ground up. ... Swapping "shoulds," shame, and "future-tripping" with peace, joy, and fulfillment RIGHT NOW."

So good, right? Couldn't we all use that? :)

Well, I finished up the course last week and whoa, it's a game changer. I feel more content and self aware. And while you may look at me from the outside and think I have my sh*t together and am uber confident, ha! ha! Not. so. much.

I'm human and am insecure about lots of stuff in life, just like the rest of you. :)

We're in this together and NO ONE knows it all.

But, if we live a life with intention we CAN find peace, joy and fulfillment no matter the things we have or do.

I can't even begin to share what I've taken away from this course because it's really a game changer but I'd recommend you check it our for yourself. And, next time it opens... enroll!

P.S. The photo is from a notebook I have where I jot down phrases that speak to me. What do you think? :)

Kintsugi

I recently learned about Kintsugi and had to share the concept with you, dear readers.

Kintsugi is a Japanese method for repairing broken pottery with a special lacquer (usually gold). The philosophy behind Kintsugi is to honor the history of the piece by emphasizing, not hiding, the breaks. The process usually results in something more beautiful and rare than the original.

In essence, this artful repair of something damaged creates a story. It celebrates the imperfect.

It reminds us that beauty is what comes from our brokenness. Or better yet, we're MORE beautiful for having been broken.

So profound, right?

As much as we're all chasing perfect, we all are "broken" in some way or another. We are ALL a work in progress.

Maybe we need to remember that we don't need to hide our cracks, but rather own them. Embrace them. And realize, when we do "fix" them (if ever) to repair them with gold and be proud of the value they create within us. They tell our story.

P.S. I first learned about this topic from a thread in my Life With Intention Online class! :)

Life with Intention

Living with intention and purpose is something I'm so passionate about! I recently received an email from a reader/friend asking for my favorite resources for someone looking to learn more about these topics. Since I had a list put together anyway, I thought I'd share here in case anyone else has the same question. I think personal development and growth are so important and worthwhile because we are always evolving into better versions of ourselves. I recently pinned this quote that says, "Don't live the same year 75 times and call it a life." So good, right?

Ok, here is my list:

- I've posted about this book before here, but Deliberate Motherhood is a great book for mama's looking to parent and practice motherhood through a different lens.

- Lara Casey is fabulous! She has a new book out that looks great (http://laracasey.com/book/), but she also has Powersheets which are a great tool! Her blog is a fantastic and free resource also. Grab a coffee and prepare to dive into her site!

- Jess Lively is my most favorite (blog, podcast, etc). I've listened to practically all of her podcasts... http://jesslively.com/livelyshow/ (also, here's a starting point if you're new: http://jesslively.com/getstarted).

- Another book that's on my "to read" list is Bob Goff's Love Does. I've heard great things about it!

- A few more purposeful living resources with a religious bent (might be great to check out especially as it relates to Lent) are the Naptime Diaries Shop's Lent Devotional and Prayer Journals from Val Marie Paper

- I have a few quotes and ideas on my Monthly Planner page about my time, how I fill my schedule, etc.

I could go on and on (seriously!), but here's another totally awesome thing!

Jess Lively, as mentioned above, was doing a holiday giveaway for her Life With Intention Online course and I WON! Yay! Yippee!!! It started last week Monday and so far is amazing. It's a 6-week curriculum with videos, workbooks, a forum, coaching calls and more. But basically, it goes deeper into the concepts of capital "V" Values and intentions and offers practical and instant ways to use the material in your daily life. I'll be sure to report back with what I thought of the course if anyone is interested.

What are your favorite resources, books, podcasts, blogs and more?
