Blueberry Lime Pound Cake

Here's another recipe I made a week or two ago during by blogging hiatus. I used farmer's market blueberries and this cake turned out super moist, delicious and full of flavor. The lime zest is yummy - I almost could've went for an even more limey flavor!

Click here for the recipe. If you do make it, note that you might need to bake it longer than the recipe calls for if you use fresh plump blueberries (due to moisture). I baked my bundt about 10 minutes longer than the recipe calls for and just tested it when it looked set.

Happy baking!

Nectarine Galette

I made this quite a few weeks ago, but since I have been terrible at posting as of late (mostly because my prego hip flexors do not enjoy sitting at a computer anymore than I have to), I had to share this super easy recipe.

Click here to see how it's made.

It's unbelievably easy, but could be very fancy if need be. I mean seriously, who knew a big chef like Marcus Samuelsson would make such an simple recipe? Enjoy! The best part is, you can use apples, blueberries, peaches, etc.

Did I mention it's simple and easy? :)

Keeping busy cross stitching

I know it sounds nerdy, but I have picked up cross stitching to keep busy. This little kit was for a cardinal. Cute, huh? Nesting, cleaning, cross stitching... why not? And if you know me, cardinals have a certain significance so it seemed meant to be when I found this to pass time prior to baby girl's arrival.

P.S. If you Google or Etsy or Pinterest search cross stitching, there are some pretty awesome designs that are uber trendy and modern. I think it might be my new little hobby. It's actually quite peaceful.

Labor Day

Today is my due date. It is Labor Day. But, I'm not in labor... yet.

Little baby Evans has not yet decided to make her appearance in this world, but I anticipate she'll be here soon! We cannot wait to meet her.

In the meantime, I appreciate everyone's kind words, prayers and encouragement. We will definitely be texting/emailing/etc when she arrives, so don't worry. I am doing great and feeling really well, so I feel blessed to have had such a great pregnancy. I can only hope our little baby will be this easy! :)

Also, I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I promise I'll be back in full force blogging soon!

** This is me golfing yesterday! I am hoping the bouncing in the golf cart will get this baby moving!! :)
